Ask a Doctor and Get an Answer to Your Medical Question ASAP
Good afternoon, I am Dr Elliot and hope I can be of help
What concern do you have that requires an urgent appointment? thanks
Is the phone call request intentional? Happy to call, but sometimes this is in error
I have tried calling but it is going to your answerphone
Would you like me to try again?
No problem. I have closed the call so this should not charge you
Congratulations on your pregnancy. Can I ask, have you had any pain with this spotting?
Do not be sorry, I appreciate that it is not cheap
Please could you answer the question before
Excellent, so mild spotting in early pregnancy is often due to an implantation bleed which is normal
If the bleeding doesn't settle within a few days or you get any pain with it - such as lower abdominal cramps, then although this could be normal, should be seen by a GP
You do not need an early ultrasound scan at this point unless pain or prolonged bleeding occurs
