I have been suffering with bursitis in my knee for nearly two weeks it got bad over the weekend very swollen and red rang my gp on Monday spoke to the nurse who gave me a prescription for Naproxen I have been taking if for a few days the knee did seem to be easing a bit but it seems to have flared up again but I think my temperature is going up and down I feel very shaking a bit lethargic I have been keeping it elevated and much as possible and a ice pack on it just wondering if this is ok
JA: What medications do you take daily? Are you allergic to any medications?
Customer: Just allergic to penicillin I just take two Adcal-D3 a day
JA: Anything else in your medical history you think the Doctor should know?
Customer: I have osteoporosis but not to bad

It seems that there is an infection as well

You should apply ice packs over the area and take Naproxen

Elevate the leg as well

Take Paracetamol for fever

You should call your GP as this will need an antibiotic as well like Flucloxacillin
