I have a pea sized lump in my scrotum. It is not on the testicle but is free-floating in the scrotum but with a string like object attaching it to the epididymis
JA: Is the condition chronic, or acute?
Customer: I don’t know
JA: Anything else in your medical history you think the Doctor should know?
Customer: No

Hello! My name is***** to JustAnswer. I'm reviewing your question now, and will post back with your reply momentarily.

Will you please share a picture of the lump?

I can’t, it’s in my scrotum

Is it painful?

Soft or hard?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
It is firm, no real pain

Thanks for the details

This is most likely a cyst or an enlarged lymph node

These swellings are mostly benign

You should use an anti-inflammatory like Nurofen

You should have it examined by your doctor as well just to make sure it does need any further evaluation like an ultrasound

Please do let me know if you have any other question

Thank you. Are those things not attached to the tragical? As as mention mine is attached by what feels like a thin string to the epididymis

Yes this cystic swelling can feel as if attached to the tube

As I said usually these are benign lumps

Please do let me know if you have any other question

When I you say attached do you me directly attached or does that mean sepetate from the epididymis but attached by a short “string”

Usually it is no attached directly to the epididymis

You should have it examined to see if you need an ultrasound for evaluation or not

Please do let me know if you have any other question

Sorry for the questions but just clarity can be lost sometimes through text.So you are saying it is “normal” for a cyst to not be attached directly but with a string like mine? That is to say my description of the lump being separate from the epididymis but attached by a “ string” is normal for a cyst. Thank you

Yes it is just like being attached through a string

It could be an epididymal cyst

This is benign and nothing serious

Please do let me know if you have any other question

If done please leave a 5-stars feedback rating
