Hi Doctor! Since past few days I have been feeling very nauseous. I have also noticed I feel like warm in my throat too sometimes. Not sure why? A month ago doctor prescribes be lansoprazole as I was fasting in Ramadan which gave me gastritis which I only had for a few days. Past two days I thought maybe that’s what’s causing a problem so I had 15mg lansoprazole but that just gave me stomach pain and feel nauseous. I haven’t had any Lansoprazole today but still few very nauseous.

I currently have a left ear ache specially when I am eating. It started yesterday.
No fever
No pain in abdomen
No Constipation

Thank you for your reply.

Is the earache severe?

How is your appetite?

Any throat pain while swallowing?

Customer: replied 2 months ago.
Ear pain isn’t severe. When I open my jaw that’s when it hurts more inside the ear.
Appetite is ok I can eat normal
No throat pain whilst swallowing. But earlier on I felt about warm in my throat.
I do get anxious a lot if something happens to me and traumatised my body.

Thank you for your reply.

In that case, it is not worrisome. In your history no alarming features are present. You can safely relax.

It seems you have health anxiety.

I would recommend you start a course of PPI like Prilosec 20mg once a day for two weeks.

Also, take tablets Domperidone or Metoclopramide 10mg half an hour before food for 3-4 days.

Try to avoid stressful situations and have proper sleep.

Carefully monitor your ear pain, in a rare event of you developing fever or pain increasing, you may require antibiotics.

I hope with these measures your nausea should settle in a week.

I hope that helps.

Currently my throat feels very warm like a little burning and slight discomfort sometimes above belly button. Is this same reason?

Welcome again,

The most likely cause is the reflux of gastric contents. It is called GERD- gastroesophageal reflux disorder.

It seems to be the same reason for both.

All these symptoms would resolve if you would take Prilosec for 14 days before food.

You may add a prokinetic medicine like Tab. Itopride 50mg 2-3 times a day.

Also, I recommend the following.

1) Avoid painkillers like aspirin, Ibuprofen, use only Tylenol for pain.

2)Avoid spicy, hot, acidic foods, fatty or fried foods.

3)Avoid Alcohol, tea, coffee, smoking.

4)Drink enough water.

5)Try maintaining a healthy weight for your height.

6)Raise the head of your bed while you sleep to keep acid down in your stomach.

I wish you all the best in health and happiness

Take care.
