i have a blood blemish at the base of my nostril which i have had for years but it has now burst and bleeding for 1 hour. i have applied pressure all the time but it hasn't stopped. it is quite free flowing. what can i do/
JA: When did the blemish first appear? Have you used any medication for this?
Customer: never used medication. appeared years ago also have one other on top of my lip. mentioned to nursing staff in past and about 2 years ago it burst but stopped after 30 mins

I understand your concern.

Well as you describe, you should apply cool compresses with an ice cube wrapped in a cotton cloth/ gauze and put firm pressure on the affected site for 10 minutes.

If blood soaks through, add another cloth or bandage and continue putting pressure on the cut for an additional 10 minutes.

Antiseptic betadine solution can be applied.
When bleeding has stopped, tape a clean bandage over the affected site.

Take OTC Motrin.
