Ask a Doctor and Get an Answer to Your Medical Question ASAP
Hi there,I am an experienced Medical Specialist.I am here to address your concerns and provide great service.
Have you tried any medication yet?
Are you able to post a pic here?
Cold sensitivity can be caused by diabetes and thyroid gland disorder.
fasting blood glucose, thyroid function tests should be ordered.
Next possibility can be autoimmune disorder like Lupus, or vasculitis.
These require a skin rash biopsy and also blood tests --ANA titer, sed rate, crp, ancas
Please upload a pic here of the rash if possible.
Normal labs are reassuring but still do not rule out an autoimmune skin disorder.
Do you have a pic to upload?
You can have food allergies, environmental allergies.
In that case, allergy patch testing and blood tests for antibodies will be helpful to localize the allergen you are reacting most.
Ok this can be an allergic reaction.
Ok then your next step is to get a skin biopsy from a local dermatologist to confirm the diagnosis.
Yes correct --skin biopsy is the next step.
Vitamin d should not cause this type of rash--more commonly joint pain or muscle aches.
Please upload all your blood test results here --I need to review more closely.
I will be able to give you more precise information after that.
Please upload the results --normal values per lab reference may not be normal sometimes in presence of symptoms.
Also I need to see if anything missed from testing
Your posted result has few abnormalities --you have low sodium, low potassium, your liver enzyme ALT is high, your white cell count is higher than normal and your PT a measure of coagulation parameter is little abnormal. I do not see any CO2 level and anion gap measured.
You will need a urine analysis for blood , protein, pH and solutes as well.
You will need further wok up to check for liver and kidney problem with ultrasound at least.
Please understand abnormal result now is more important than in the past.
And it is not normal till it is normal as we say in medical parlance.
In presence of symptoms, even a little abnormality bears further significance.
Please post more results if possible for further guidance.
Mild fatty liver can progress to NASH and cirrhosis over the course of several years.
Periodic monitoring is recommended.
Liver problem usually causes skin rash --well proven.
However, you will need a skin biopsy as well.
Yes I meant that
lead, arsenic levels should be checked if you are at risk.
ok --yes mercury is another one that should be monitored.
ok --your nutrionist is right --please follow her recommendations.
I am not saying your skin reaction is related --especially since you still need a skin biopsy and you have abnormal liver function.
You need a work up for other causes that can affect liver like hemochromatosis ( iron studies, ferritin), hepatitis panel, wilson disease ( ceruloplasmin level).
Please upload other labs if you have done before as I mentioned above.
This is as per current guidelines from most liver specialists.
Just ultrasound is not adequate to monitor liver disease.
Liver MRI scan or a fibro scan to check for liver stiffness also recommended.
Besides a dermatologist, it is in your best interest to follow up with a liver specialist.
Supplements alone are not proven to protect against liver disease.
But healthy diet and regular exercise do have a role in improving liver health.
