Hope you are well. I have a question about my 3 year old

This answer was rated:

Hi hope you are well. I have a question about my 3 year old skin. So about 9 weeks ago she developed pink/skin coloured spots on her shoulder blades and spread to lower back on the sides by hips a few on legs too. When consulted with doctor over the phone w got told it was chicken pox but now she still has the marks which are light skin colour or lil pinky. They aren't itchy and ive gone back to the doctor but he doesn't know what they are.
JA: How long have you been dealing with this? Does anything in particular seem to make the spots better or worse?
Customer: She has them nine weeks now. No change in them really. I was hoping they would fade. I was going to try moisturising them or use hydrocortisone but I don't want to put something on them when I'm unsure what they are
JA: Anything else in your medical history you think the Doctor should know?
Customer: no she hasn't had any other skin problems

This is Dr. David. I am reviewing your question now and will be with you momentarily.

any fever in your 3 year old

can you upload a clear photo of the skin so I can see?

Customer: replied 5 days ago.
she had a fever when it started 9 weeks ago, this is why we thought it was the chicken pox and also a lil fever last week with head cold

I see

often times viral infections can cause fevers and a skin rash which are very common in children, these viral infections

thanks for those pictures

they are not very well focused on the skin

you may have to tap the screen on your cell phone to focus the image on the skin

it looks from those blurry photos like a possible viral rash

Customer: replied 5 days ago.
I know hard to get a photo with a riggly 3 year old. I would have thought the doctors would know it was viral. Would a viral rash last 9 weeks.

wiggly!!! that is funny.

viral rash can last 9 weeks.

it doesn't look dangerous.

it could be mild scar tissue from viral infection or chicken pox.

those don't look dangerous.

can be residual pigmentation from prior pimples.

I think you are right that its not dangerous which is great :)
Is there any thing you would recommend to help them go away?

they will take time to go away

you can try some coconut oil on them

but I would not worry
