Hey Dr Naz. I have been having some breathing issues for the past week. I feel like my lungs can't get enough air and I have to control my breathing. Once I stop trying to control my breathing it feels like I'm holding my breath sometime it get worse and I feel like I cant breath at all. I am really scared I feel like it can I stop for good anytime

How old are you?

Do you have any cough? Any fever? Any chest pain? Any recent long travels?

Customer: replied 17 days ago.
I am 17. I have a chest pain after some physical activities. But thats all
Customer: replied 17 days ago.
Im really worried that its respiratory failure or something
Customer: replied 17 days ago.
Pls I need advice because I heard it could be anxiety

Do you have any history of asthma?

Customer: replied 17 days ago.
No I don't. But I have never tested for it.

Respiratory failure just doesn't happen out of sudden, you should not worry about this.

This is likely anxiety and you are overthinking about your health. You don't have any sinsiter symptoms.

If at any pain, there is sudden shortness of breath, severe chest pain, which is highly unlikely in your case, please call ambulance.

Customer: replied 17 days ago.
Ok but can it also be anxiety that I feel my lungs are not getting air

yes it is likely anxiety.

Customer: replied 17 days ago.
Ok thank you very much. It has been all I could think of all week. Thank you

Would you kindly give 5 rating to this consult. It would be highly appreciated.

As we spoke before. I was having difficulty breathing. But I also have something else bothering me
Customer: replied 15 days ago.
Which is the fact that I smell blood in my nose but there is never blood. And there is light high pitched sound when I inhale. But I have gerd and it might be the cause. I heard it might be asthma
Customer: replied 15 days ago.
I used a peak flow meter to measure my breathing and it was around 700
Customer: replied 15 days ago.

I think you should visit the GP for nose examination to see if there is any polyp inside.

Your Peak flow reading is absolutely normal.

Customer: replied 15 days ago.
I visited my gp he said he saw nothing
Customer: replied 15 days ago.
But the sound when I inhale makes think my breathing problem is not anxiety but something serious
Customer: replied 15 days ago.
Because the slightest activity makes me breathless

What does your GP think?

Have you got an X-ray?

Customer: replied 15 days ago.
the X-ray was normal. And blood test to
Customer: replied 15 days ago.
Everything is all normal
Customer: replied 15 days ago.
I spoke to my doctor yesterday and he said it might just be my anxiety. But I'm still extremely worried. Google says it might be lung cancer

You have health anxiety, your Gp has examined you. X-ray is fine, there is nothing to worry about. You don't have any sinisiter sign of cancer.

Customer: replied 15 days ago.
Ok I guess I just have to accept the fact that its nothing

Yes, thank you.

Customer: replied 15 days ago.
But what do you think about the nose when inhaling air. It s light but high pitched. But its not there all the time

It can be secondary to gunk or slightly high turbinate.

Customer: replied 14 days ago.
Its that something serious

No, completely benign condition.

Customer: replied 14 days ago.
Ok so I guess I dont have to worry. But what can you suggest me do about my breathing to make me feel better.

If need be, discuss any symptomatic inhaler for use with your GP.

Customer: replied 14 days ago.
Ok thank you very much. After I spoke to you I decided to not kind the breathing and I have been feeling slightly better
