Ask a Doctor and Get an Answer to Your Medical Question ASAP
Good morning, I am Dr Ruff, thank you for contacting us today
I am sorry to hear of your anxiety. Blood can be from a number of causes, mainly infection or stones. However Bladder cancer is also a cause.
It is rare in young adults, and only really seen from 50 years and older. More common in smokers.
You should get a urine dip done to check if there is blood and infection, the sample can then be sent off and checked.
If you like, however this is not an accurate way of checking at all and you will still need to get a urine dip done.
Great, so it is therefore irrelevant if you have blood now if infection is the cause.
That is my pleasure.
