I have woken up with a very large lump on the inner groin

This answer was rated:

I have woken up with a very large lump on the inner groin and think it may be an inguinal hernia. No history pain around pelvic area yesterday, still radiating low level pain, does not disappear on lying down
JA: How long have you had the lump? Is it hard or soft?
Customer: Noticed it on waking this morning. It is quite firm and tender
JA: Is there anything else the Doctor should know before I connect you? Rest assured that they'll be able to help you.
Customer: No. Medically fit

Hello,

Welcome to justanswer.com

Does the lump increase in size when you cough?

Was it present before you went to sleep?

Please post a picture.

No it doesn’t increase in size when I cough. Not present before I went to sleep but had consistent radiating pelvic pain all of yesterday afternoon.

This is likely to be a infected and enlarged lymph node - not a hernia.

It is possible that you have an infection in the surrounding skin or tissues which is causing the lymph node to enlarge.

Please take Motrin 400 mg for the pain and consult your doctor for an examination.
