Hello. I'm Dr Chip
What's your question please?

Customer: replied 7 days ago.
Hello!
Basically I just wanted to get an opinion - I have like 5 ecgs recorded from my Apple Watch and they all just say either inconclusive or have a high heart rate. But when I have taken them is when I’ve been feeling ill.
Is that possible?
Customer: replied 7 days ago.
Want to see if it’s something I need to go and see someone about or if they are harmless basically

Feeling ill?

Customer: replied 7 days ago.
Feeling ill like feeling symptoms - like dizzy / sick / slightly short of breath
Expert:  Dr. Chip replied 7 days ago.

Any chest pain or palpitations?

Customer: replied 7 days ago.
Chest pain no, just feels uncomfortable. Palpitations yes.
Expert:  Dr. Chip replied 7 days ago.

If the ECG was clear then this isn't a cardiac problem

You need to have your doctor check you out when you can

Customer: replied 7 days ago.
Sorry no as in - could I send through the ecgs from the Apple Watch?
Expert:  Dr. Chip replied 7 days ago.

You do have a few premature ventricular contractions there--is your doctor aware of those?

Customer: replied 7 days ago.
To be totally honest I don’t know what that means. So probably not
Expert:  Dr. Chip replied 7 days ago.

Skipped beats

Not dangerous

I see no indication of angina or a heart attack there

Customer: replied 7 days ago.
Oh I see! :) thank you for explaining. The ones which keep recording a high heart rate - are they normal? Those all are at periods of rest which is what confused me slightly.
Expert:  Dr. Chip replied 7 days ago.

Those are normal

Customer: replied 7 days ago.
none of them have anything to worry about on there? ☺️
Customer: replied 7 days ago.
Aside from the contractions you mentioned which are normal
Expert:  Dr. Chip replied 7 days ago.

Nothing to worry about

Customer: replied 7 days ago.
Ah thank you puts my mind at rest a bit. Is there any reason that when they happen I’d feel symptoms? Like the discomfort, breathlessness, dizzy/ faint etc? That’s what’s more bothersome
Expert:  Dr. Chip replied 7 days ago.

I think that's from the anxiety they cause you

Customer: replied 7 days ago.
there wouldn’t be anything to be done anyway to prevent them happening? Just getting in the way a lot
Customer: replied 7 days ago.
Sorry so many questions…
Expert:  Dr. Chip replied 7 days ago.

If they become bothersome a low dose of propranolol can treat them
