Sore throat and vomiting is often due to strep in children. He needs a rapid strep test. Your gp can do this. You should call or contact your gp or 111.
If the test is positive, he would need antibiotics.
Do not give fluid or food right after vomiting. Wait an hour and start with ice chips or a popsicle.
Does this help to answer your question? Please let me know if there is anything you do not understand and if you have any feedback for me.
So normal which is good. You can try the ice chips and popsicle. But if he does not improve soon, he needs a strep test. The antibiotics certainly should have helped.
The red spots on his face can also indicted strep infection.
Remember that this is a question and answer service. So I can help, but there is no way to make an actual diagnosis. Kids that have strep often have stomach cramps and GI symptoms. I think he really needs a strep test.
You are welcome. Hope the little guy feels better soon.
