Ask a Doctor and Get an Answer to Your Medical Question ASAP
Hello. This is Dr Geyik and I will be assisting you today.
Can I please ask if you have any abdominal or other pains, bleeding from anywhere, fever, diarrhoea, dizziness, etc?
And did they give you any medications to take when they discharged you from the hospital?
If you only have vomiting and not other symptoms, you can take over the counter promethazine which can be used in pregnancy. This should help with nausea and vomiting.
However, if promethazine doesn't help, you should contact 111 as they can prescribe you other sickness medications such as cyclizine or domperidone.
If you have any of the above symptoms, you should also call 111 for physical assessment.
Unfortunately, some women can have bad vomiting in pregnancy. It is called hyperemesis gravidarum.
You can still try promethazine to see if this helps. If it doesn't help by the end of today, you should contact 111 or even go back to A+E for more infusions.
Do you know which hospital you were admitted last week? Then I can find the number for you.
Or you can just call 111 which is like a semi emergency number and they are open 24/7. You just dial 111 now and someone will help you.
And which area of UK is that?
