Started with slight pain in epididymis yesterday , now quite swollen and getting very painfully. Am outside my local chemist. Have spoken to the pharmacist who says I definitely have a uti and need antibiotics

Epidydimal pain implies Epididymitis, not a UTI. However antibiotics are still required, but important to note the difference between the two as it is a different antibiotic.
