Hi! I am Dr Saleem. Welcome to JA.Thank you for the question. I will be answering your query shortly.
I understand your concern.
Is this your first pregnancy?
Any history of miscarriage?
Have you got nausea?
Is there any spotting?
Are the cramps severe?
Have you contacted a midwife or an OBGYN?
Have they given you a date for scan?
Did the cramping start after sex?
Last questions. Did you get a similar feeling during your first pregnancy?
Were there any complications during first pregnancy?
Okay. It would be prudent to schedule an appointment with your doctor and get examined. I'm just worried about ectopic pregnancy. Minor cramping and discomfort is pretty common in early pregnancy but if the symptoms are persistent with or without bleeding/spotting then one should ideally get evaluated. If you're unable to see your doctor within 48 hours then please go to A&E. You may take Tablet Tylenol 500 mg every 6 hours to reduce discomfort.
Please let me know if you have any other queries. Thanks.
