After a recent blood test I had a GGT reading of 117U/L. I have been drinking quite a lot over the past few years so it isn't much of a surprise. My GP has advised me to temporarily stop drinking before taking another test in a couple of months. I have a couple of events in these months where I would like to be able to drink a moderate amount of alcohol. Is this likely to cause problems in reducing my GGT level? I would say we are talking 2 days out of the next 10 weeks or so.

1 or 2 small drinks may not raise the level much.

But if it is continued or repeated it can add the effect on liver.

I would advise to avoid drinking till you get the next test.
