Have had nasty head cold for approx 5 weeks now, after having 3 teeth removed and a partial denture fitted feeling a little better now but have vile taste in mouth think i have infection and probably need some antibiotics to clear up
JA: Have you had any past treatments or tests related to the denture? If so, what were the results?
Customer: No but front tooth was infected
JA: Got it. What dosage of the antibiotics are you using? Any allergies to medications or other substances?
Customer: No allergies just need a prescription for some antibiotics hard to get doctors appointment!

Hello. This is Dr Geyik and I will be assisting you today.

Unfortunately, we are only an online advice service and we are unable to prescribe medications as we do not have access to your medical notes. However, if you contact 111 now, they can help you with this as they have a dedicated dental service. I apologise for any inconvenience.

NHS 111 has a full dental service where they can prescribe for dental issues or refer you to an emergency dentist.

You can take paracetamol and ibuprofen OR co-codamol (codeine + paracetamol) for the pain if you are not allergic to these and you don't have asthma or stomach issues.

You can take 2 paracetamol 500 mg tablets up to four times a day.

You can take ibuprofen 3 times a day.

You can take 1-2 co-codamol tablets up to four times a day. You should drink plenty of fluids as codeine can sometimes cause constipation.

You must not take paracetamol with co-codamol.

You can also try salt water or betadine gargles and chlorhexidine mouth wash which can help with the infection and pain.
