There are various over the counter remedies that you can use for haemorrhoids/piles. These include those that contain hydrocortisone and lidocaine which is a numbing agent. These can come in different bands and you can try any available at your pharmacy. You can try Proctosedyl or Uniroid creams which should help.

If you get severe pain and/or bleeding, you should contact 111 or go to A+E.

What can help with pain ???
Expert:  Dr Geyik, MBBS replied 16 days ago.

You can take paracetamol and ibuprofen OR co-codamol (codeine + paracetamol) for the pain if you are not allergic to these and you don't have asthma or stomach issues.

You can take 2 paracetamol 500 mg tablets up to four times a day.

You can take ibuprofen 3 times a day.

You can take 1-2 co-codamol tablets up to four times a day. You should drink plenty of fluids as codeine can sometimes cause constipation but you said you have diarrhoea now so it can help with that too.

You must not take paracetamol with co-codamol.
