Ok I will repeat, I have noticed in past year that my groin area has a level of numbness

There must be some nerve compression going on then and might need a facet steroid injection in the back

Ok and finally doctor, could this cause a decrease in penis sensitivity, weaker erection or would it be more common in a separate issue

Unlikely.  That's controlled by nerve roots S2 to S4 ..
