we have a merc clk (diesel) the wipers have stopped working

Customer Question

we have a merc clk (diesel) the wipers have stopped working in normal switch position. Motor is OK because wipers operate after washers are used. Today I have had the whole column switch replaced with a new mercedes part (garages recomendation) still wipers do not work, indicators on same stalk were fine. I'm assuming this must be a wiring or relay fault but I can find no information on if (where) there is a relay which may be at fault. When I went to garage to collect car they did not appear to have any clue as to what to do as replacement stalk did not work, do you have any real information as to the cause?
