No,generally overfilling the reservoir with coolant/water will only cause the reservoir to leak fluid out of the top cap or wouldnt really cause the mechanical side of the engine interally as per cylinder compression to cause you to loose compression..compression as per engine cylinders would only be lost if the valve are not seating properly,sticking / pistons rings. engine worn,bores / headgasket has gone / injector body gas seals leaking / glowplugs previously broken,body left in cylinder head causing compression to leak out..I do hope this helps
