Fan blower stopped, however after starting car it sometimes

This answer was rated:

Fan blower stopped, however after starting car it sometimes blows, then stops when EC button pressed and doesn't restart when EC button pressed again. So nothing wrong with fan blower itself, but there is something wrong with control box.

I have paid £20 ! So hope answer is helpful!

Stan :

Symptoms you describe can indicate failing fan motor as well. The worn fan's contact brushes can give poor contact after running for some time
The fan has it's own speed regulator, in the same air box. So both the fan or it's regulator can be the cause. To determine which one is causing the problem, the voltage supply to the fan must be checked when problem occurs. If the fan is not running with voltage supplied- fan itself is faulty. If no voltage is present- regulator is bad.
