my 2004 e class low beam lights are like candles sometimes and sometimes I see them move up they are great why do they stay low sometimes.
Many Thanks Steve
Hello Steve,
If your car has HID (aka xenon) healdights- then it has automatic beam height control system. In this case, usually front or rear axle suspension height sensors give incorrect value to the headlight control module, and it actuates the headlight motor to lower the beams.
The sensors should be checked for proper contact, corrosion and mechanical damage to the linkage. If all turns out to be fine, the system can be checked for faults and actual values with the Star Diagnosis computer. Some independent MB shops have this tool besides authorised dealers.
Best Regards,
