hi i have merc e320cdi 03 140000 miles 13 full services .last two months now and again gearbox jumps to neutral ,had filter and oil ghange on gearbox. not done before ,seemed to help very random problem can do 200 miles no prob then it will jump into neutral 3 times in 2 miles very annoying car perfect otherwise /had fault reader done no faults .read on internet somebody had same prob changed battery and fixed prob .had battery checked in case voltage dropping confusing computer but battery came back as good ,is it electrical or do i need expensive gearbox removel .or is it clucth seems to slip in second somtimes

Hello,Such issue can be caused by bigger than normal transmission output shaft play. It is possible to adjust it back to specs with correct shims. Basically, the workshop has to disconnect the propshaft, check the output shaft longitudinal play. Then the output flange can be removed and shims accessed. Once their thickness is checked- new ones can be selected and installed.I would recommend to have this job done at independent MB shop. Best Regards,Stan
