Problem with engine diagnostic indicator lamp that stays

This answer was rated:

Hi, Problem with engine diagnostic indicator lamp that stays on even after new crank sensors fitted yesterday. Mechanic says will cost £3k to put right, dealer says to bring back and he'll fix it 90 miles from home. :(
Hi, the common problem with the fault codes for the right side cam position is a faulty balance shaft in the motor. If the shop has replaced the cam solenoids and the fault codes have come back you will need to replace the balance shaft. The engine will need to be removed and disassembled in order to replace the balance shaft. Let me know if you have any questions.Marty
