Mercedes Repair Questions? Ask a Mechanic for Answers ASAP
the 3.0ltr engine is an option only in the states and difficult to get over here, also by far the easier route is to sell your current van and get one with a larger engine as an engine change will need a different engine bay wiring loom, exhaust, intercooler and ECU as well as the engine
the ECU will then need recoding to work with the new ( to it) keys and security module and only the dealers and Mercedes specialists are capable of this
if you still want to carry the conversion out then let me know your location so I can try to locate a specialist for you
can you tell me what chip you already have ?
as to be honest I've know the 'tunit' boxes to give the best results
fitting a lower back pressure ( louder) exhaust would also help
I don't know if that Fox exhaust is a striaght through design or not?
if it is then it'll certainly help
I'd also look at this firm
regarding the chip express firm
its not one I've come across before so I cannot comment in the same way I'd reccommend tunit having a direct expierence with their products
if they can show a before and after dyno curve then that would be adequate proof they know their stuff
thats quite normal, and you'd want to leave the cat in place to pass an MOT
even so you'd still get some good gains
