W213 2016 E CLASS AMG 220 D PREMIUM. Want to fit winter

Customer Question

W213 2016 E CLASS AMG 220 D PREMIUM.
Want to fit winter tyres but want to buy new or second hand wheels,
think I need to down size from staggered 9J REAR and 8J front with 275/35/r19 on rear and 245/45? or 40? /r19 front.
Should I go with same size or decrease to 16 or 17 or 18 inch to get narrower tread and larger profile for cutting through snow? Do I need RFlats?

Hello Brian,

The rim width is to have a wider tyre on the rear for the power the car has.

I don't believe you will be able to find wheels that will fit your requirements.

The first issue is the size of the brakes determines the rim diameter.

Personally I wouldn't be trying to drive a car like this in snow.
