Customer: I need a shift linkage bushing
Assistant: Anything else you want the mechanic to know before I connect you?
Customer: 1970 220D 4 speed column shift

Hi, my name is***** bushing specifically are you looking for?

Customer: replied 4 months ago.
I think I actually found it. I'm looking for the 2 bushings that go right at the top of the steering column (one on each side of the alloy plate), they're completely missing on my car. If I'm not mistaken, they are part number 111 997 12 40

The ones that cause the horn to beep all of the time when they go bad?

Yes, those are the correct bushings.

Customer: replied 4 months ago.
Great! When I bought the car, the horn had been disconnected, probably for that reason. Its also causing very sloppy shifting. I often can't find 1st or reverse without jamming the linkage

The bushings will take care of both issues.
