Hi, my name is Chris and welcome to JustAnswer!

Let me ask you a couple of questions. . .

Are you looking for an inkjet printer or laser jet? What's your price range?

You can reply back to me via the "Reply to Expert" tab.

Okay, thanks John.

The only printer that is still being manufactured that I'm aware of that is compatible with Windows 98 is a laser jet and it's quite pricey (much less if you want to go the refurbished route). It is the Samsung ML1740 and can be found on Amazon:

For inkjet printers, you would need to go used/refurbished and I would probably suggest the Canon Pixma IP3000, which can do a good job handling both standard documents as well as high-quality color photos. This one you can also pick up from Amazon and can find it's listing here:

Beyond these two, I would point you to the following document which lists many older printers that are Win 98 compatible:

Your best bet would be to find one of those printers--or a similar printer--on the used market on Amazon or eBay.

I grew up using Windows 98 so it's sad for me to see support for it dying out, but that's the case at this point. The last major Internet browser to support 98--Opera--discontinued their support in the newest version a couple of years ago. It's unfortunate.

If you have any other questions on this, just let me know and I'll help you out in any way that I can. You can reply back to me at any time.

And please remember to use the ratings box to rate the answer at least "OK Service" or better for me so that I receive credit for assisting you.
