Went to start up my laptop and noticed Microsoft updates operating for about half a minute. Then computer switched off and cannot now restart. Received phone call during past 2 days from a lady purporting to be from Microsoft and telling me about my laptop being hacked but did not respond since I thought it was a scam.

Can you remove the battery from it and power cable
Then hold the power button down for 60 seconds, then release.
Connect the battery and power cable and try to turn it on
