Hi there,
BCD error 0xc0000098 means:
"The boot configuration data file doesn't contain valid information for an operating system"
You will need to use a recovery disc to repair the damaged Windows files.
If you don't have a recovery disc available or if your computer did not come with the discs, then you can use another computer with Windows 7 Windows 8 or Windows 10 installed to create a Windows 8 installation DVD to recover your system.

I do - how?

On the other computer, do the following:

  1. Open Backup and Restore by clicking the Start button , clicking Control Panel, clicking System and Maintenance, and then clicking Backup and Restore.

  2. In the left pane, click Create a system repair disc, and then follow the steps to create the recovery disc.
