I originally had a broadband problem. Tried everything

This answer was rated:

I originally had a broadband problem. Tried everything including resetting to factory settings. Turned out my provider was at fault (underground cable crack).
Am rebuilding my laptop but now I am asked for a validation code by Microsoft. Can't find any of my paperwork for my laptop. This was bought at Staples, Basingstoke UK with Windows 8 about 1-2 years ago.
Please help with a validation (Product) code.

Hi, thanks for using I am Cris.

On your laptop if you flip it over there should be a Microsoft sticker which states the product key to the operating system installed on your PC. If not found on the back side it maybe behind the battery. Remove the battery and see if you find it there.
