Normally my Outlook emails work perfectly when I am at home in London. However, on holiday in Wales I cannot send emails - receiving is fine. The guilty server is smtp.virginmedia.com, but Virgin claim this is an Outlook problem, not one they can resolve. Can you help?

Does your email address end with @virginmedia.com or @virgin.net, etc.?

What's the port number and security option, if any, for the Outgoing / SMTP option you use in Outlook?

Do you have windows xp, vista, or 7, or 8, 10?

Hi - message just says "cannot send message using the server smtp.virginmedia.com***@******.***". Then it simply tells me the connection failed and offers various options like "try later, edit, edit smtp server list". It also offers a "connection doctor" which is no help!
My email address ends with @virginmedia.com.
No idea what the port number is, nor whether there is a security option. But I don't ever recall applying for one.
I'm ashamed to say, being an ancient Briton, I don't know which version of windows I have. Is there a windows 11?
