Ok. Then you may need to remove the account and add it back.

  1. On the Tools menu, click Account Settings.
  2. Select the Email tab.
  3. Click the e-mail account you want to delete, and then click Remove.
  4. Click Yes when you are asked “Are you sure you want to remove the account?"
  5. Click Close.

Once you do that you can add it back.

I have removed the account and re-entered it, What should the settings be? Account type POP3, Incoming ?, Outgoing SMTP.gmail.com

My Outlook was not working as it kept coming up asking for name and password. After quite a while your expert resolved this, but now Outlook does not receive and send messages from gmail. If this cannot be resolved I expect you to refund my money
