I've just set up a microsoft 365 account and trying to activate it but it won't accept my gmail email I set it up with and and keeps defaulting to an old outlook account. I can activate my account!!
JA: Are you logged into your Gmail account on any other devices?
Customer: yes, all my devices
JA: Do you have security questions or a phone number on file to help reset your password?
Customer: I've tried using my phone number but the button doesn't do anything, just sits there greyed out
JA: Anything else you want the Email Expert to know before I connect you?

It automatically defaults to that cath.hoult email address. I don't know why

Did you try the Use another account button?

but it wouldn't let me get any further. I tried setting up a new outlook account but it sits there doing nothing with the button greyed out

I've just tried shutting everything down and starting again. I bought a subscription yesterday with a 1 month free trial (I can show you the screenshot from my Monzo account)

try to activate it on another Microsoft account you have please as this one does not have office.
