The trunk of my mitsubishi grandis does not open.

Hello, welcome. My name is***** will do my very best to assist you with your question. I apologize if you have been waiting long for a response.
What is the trunk doing? Meaning can you hear the trunk trying to open?
Customer: replied 3 years ago.

Yes Mike when I try to open you can hear the click as if trying to open.

Does this happen with the key and the key fob?
Customer: replied 3 years ago.

When I try both with the key and the key fob all doors open no problem but not the trunk. The click I hear is when I pull the trunk handle to try and open the trunk but it doesn't open. Remember I have no key lock on the trunk itself. My model is the Grandis DI-D, I really don't know if other models have a trunk key lock.

Ok either the trunk lock actuator has failed or the latch itself which is also apart of the handle, there is no easy way to get around these failures to get the trunk open.
The handle will need to be removed and then the rod pulled manually to get the trunk open to make the repair.

How can I remove the handle?

The handle has to be broken and removed because the bolts are on the inside of the trunk.
Customer: replied 3 years ago.

Sorry for the delay in answering back but I've been busy trying to fix the car. Finally managed to open the trunk with a little help of a lever from inside the compartment where i couyd see the lock mechanism. No need to have broken the handle as you recommended.

I'm glad you got the issue resolved. Thank you.
