Dr. Bob :

Hello. When did this start? Are you having any pain?

Customer: Afewweeksagobutnopain
Dr. Bob :

any blood in your urine or semen this week?

Customer: Yes
Dr. Bob :

can you see the blood in your urine? any small clots?

Customer: No
Dr. Bob :

how do you know it is there?

Customer: Wipeingthepanafterpeeing
Dr. Bob :

I see, and what is your age? are you taking any medications?

Customer: 61years yes lithium 800mg
Dr. Bob :

blood in the urine once in awhile can be benign or may signal an infection.

Dr. Bob :

blood in the semen once in awhile can be benign or may signal an infection in the prostate

Dr. Bob :

blood in both is a little more worrisome and would warrant a work up...i.e exam, urine tests, possibly blood tests as well.

Dr. Bob :

do you have a primary care doctor?

Customer: I have a GP and she is a family friend
Dr. Bob :

I would contact her and let her know about this. if you have an infection, it can be treated. while much less likely, you would also want to rule out cancer in the prostate or urinary tract.
