The best way to approach this is to work with an experienced physical therapist who specializes in "balance training" or "balance rehabilitation." They can develop a home program for you that you can do everyday to preserve and enhance your functionality. I would suggest you do this as soon as possible as most gains made after a stroke are made within the first 6-9 months.
