What should I do if my chronic fatigue syndrome and/m.e is

Customer Question

What should I do if my chronic fatigue syndrome and/m.e is just getting worse rapidly as nothing's helping? Also Is there any kind of inpatient services for this kind of thing or would a hospital be able to keep me in overnight at some point for observations
JA: Have you seen a doctor about this yet? What medications are you taking?
Customer: I have to take quite a lot of medications because of my cfs and fibromyalgia aswell as other issues, I have seen some different doctors but they just say to push through things and 'just to wait to see how I get on with my cfs'
JA: Anything else in your medical history you think the Doctor should know?
Customer: I'm not sure I have spinal/orthopaedic problems which aren't really a problem at the moment and I have asthma/allergies, my allergies are usually well controlled, my asthma + cfs can sometimes affect each other

ok, nothing in your list would be contributing to your symptoms

You need to be referred to a CFS clinic or rhuematologist dealing with CFS which your GP can do as your symptoms are getting severe

I know some consultants have tried Vitamin B12 for some people which they've found effective

Customer: replied 5 days ago.
Thank you, I'm under the chronic fatigue service at Newcastle upon Tyne and everything they've tried so far hasn't helped my cfs. Should I see if there's other treatment options they can offer? Also is vitamin b12 better prescribed or would it be okay to get over the counter?
Expert:  Anthony Osula replied 5 days ago.

Vit b12 would be the injection form and usually tried by the CFS clinics, as no other Drs would do it due to lack of evidence base, so in some cases you might even have to go privately
