Numbness associated with the outer side of the arm may be due to cervical discs or early spondylosis

Expert:  Dr.Shakeel Ansari replied 17 days ago.

These abnormal sensations over the scalp and arm are called formication. Since the medical causes of formication can be varied, your doctor will run the appropriate diagnostic tests in order to uncover the root cause of your symptoms and begin appropriate treatment. Your doctor will also rule out conditions like multiple sclerosis.

This is the distribution of C2-C3 nerves and shoulder C3-C4 and probably C5-C6 cervical spine are involved.

Have you done any cervical MRI?

The area you mark was on the scalp. this area supplied by the nerves

May I ask you honestly what you think it might be?
Expert:  Dr.Shakeel Ansari replied 11 days ago.

This could be a trigeminal autonomic cephalalgia (TAC) called  Short-lasting unilateral neuralgiform headache attacks with conjunctival injection and tearing (SUNCT) or Short lasting unilateral neuralgiform headache attacks with cranial autonomic symptoms (SUNA).

Customer: replied 11 days ago.
Okay thank you. Just one question Is this tingling/crawling on my head, and arm unlikely to be nerve compression due to a tumor? This is what I’m worried about most
Expert:  Dr.Shakeel Ansari replied 11 days ago.

Tumours cause weakness and epilepsy mostly.

Customer: replied 11 days ago.
What do you mean by weakness?
Expert:  Dr.Shakeel Ansari replied 11 days ago.

weakness of limb

Customer: replied 11 days ago.
I know there’s benign and malignant tumours and I’ve had my symptoms for 9 months, if this was malignant would I have more symptoms. Sorry for asking a lot of questions
Expert:  Dr.Shakeel Ansari replied 11 days ago.

can you perform these tests?

Tandem walk

Expert:  Dr.Shakeel Ansari replied 11 days ago.

finger nose test

Expert:  Dr.Shakeel Ansari replied 11 days ago.

Definitely, it is difficult to examine a patient neurological must see in person and do all the examination.

Customer: replied 11 days ago.
Okay I can do the tests you sent fine with no problems
Expert:  Dr.Shakeel Ansari replied 11 days ago.

Then it means you are neurologically normal. No weakness and normal coordination.

Customer: replied 11 days ago.
Ah okay, thanks for sending those through
Expert:  Dr.Shakeel Ansari replied 11 days ago.
