Customer Question

I found yesterday that a small indicator on Micra's panel starts to splash
on and off. I found it's a NATS security warning light. Is it something
serious I need to worry about? What do I need to do now?
Thanks a lot

Hi .
Yes i suggest you get to a good Nissan repair shop or the dealers
as this is a warning that the immobilizer system has encountered a malfunction within the system .
Could be a malfunctioning key , immo module etc to know you need to hook up a Nissan diagnostic scan tool to check for malfunction codes .
If you don't get this done then sooner or later the engine is not going to start due to the malfunctioning system.
System operation.
System arms after switching ignition OFF.
Immobilizer warning lamp flashes when system armed .
If engine will not start, proceed as follows:
Remove all possible sources of signal interference from key ring.
Switch ignition ON for approximately 5 seconds.
Switch ignition OFF.
Wait approximately 5 seconds.
Repeat above procedure.
If engine starts:
Place source of signal interference elsewhere.
If engine does not start:
System malfunction.
RHD: If immobilizer warning lamp flashes 6 times then continuously illuminates proceed as follows:
Switch ignition ON.
Wait approximately 15 minutes.
Ensure immobilizer warning lamp extinguishes.
Start engine.
