Customer Question

Hi,Nissan Almera 2004 petrol turning over ok won't start, been a bit slow sometimes about starting, Thanks
Assistant: Has the vehicle turned into a gas hog? And how does it start -- same as usual?
Customer: Hi, wife's car no complaints about gas consumption, never has much fuel in it which I hate , was filled once to the max by me ,tank lasted for about 6 weeks + ,does very small miles, won't start this time at all, thx.
Assistant: What is the model of your '04 Nissan?
Customer: Almera ,not sure of the exact model, but it's a basic one , third Almera we have had.
Assistant: Are you fixing your vehicle yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: Just checked battery, ok ,turning over ok should rule out starter, she say sometimes red light on with like a key symbol showing? ? Thought about the immobiliser if it has one ?
Assistant: Anything else you want the mechanic to know before I connect you?
Customer: No

Hi, 2004 Nissan Almera , I never got an answer through, Thanks Marty.
Expert:  indy-tech replied 4 months ago.
we have an intermittent start, one day good one day bad
Check battery voltage a good battery will have 12.6 + volts and when trying to start should not drop below 10.8 volts .
If does not drop at all check starter connection.
Can you get hooked up to a diagnostic scan tool and check for malfunction codes,
You could have a problem with the immobilizer system.
