Hey there, this is a NATS lock out code from using the wrong key or an unregistered key.
did you get a new key cut and try to use it or something? or are you using the original key?
Then the key has lost it's registration.
you will have to have a mobile locksmith re-register the key to the BCM.
if you turn the key to ON position and leave it, does the condensor fan come on at the front of the engine?
immobiliser might be bad then if the key is good.
if the ECM or BCM was at fault it would generally cause the condensor fan to come on which is why i asked.
the communication fault was with the BCM?
yea, the P1610 is NATS malfunction lock mode
this is the process to get out of lock mode
1. Turn ignition switch OFF.
2. Turn ignition switch ON with registered key. (Do not start engine.) Wait 5 seconds.
3. Return the key to OFF position. Wait 5 seconds.
4. Repeat steps 2 and 3 twice (total of three cycles).
5. Start the engine
I think since your snap on scan tool connects to the modules just fine, that we have to assume its a communication issue from the BCM.
can you see all modules from your snap on?

There is no easy answer here since the ECM is VIN registered and part of the key registration process. When you immobiliser reads the key ID it's the BCM that sees the key ID and confirms registration with the ECM.
i think a little more in depth diagnostic is needed her to determine what's going on. Having a spare key to attempt registration would be helpful as well.
yes, there was no intelligent key Muranos in 2006, i beleive they started that in 2007.
i have seen keys lose registration when batteries are drained for extended periods.
I have also seen people jumpstart these cars and leave the ignition in the ON position when they connect the cables and damage the ECM.

do you have an IMMU initialization?
you said you replaced the immobilizer? did you mean you replaced the NATS antenna amp? the part on the ignition cylinder?
if that's installed wrong it will cause the P1610 is why I am asking. It would also prevent it form coming out of lock mode.
what do you have in the data option? I am not familiar with the solus, but the BCM has the IMMU built into it on this model.
you don't have an immu menu or NVIS or anything of that nature?
whats in the keyless menu?
basically here you have a P1610 lock mode.
so you would want to try the manual release form lock out mode i showed you earlier.
If that doesn't work you before NVIS initialization and see if it completes. If it won't complete the BCM is likely.

A dealer scan tool would make this extremely uncomplicated.
but worst case scenario here you could be out as much as $1000 if you go that route.
the non intelligent key remotes can be manually programmed no scanner needed until 2007
3 of the fuses at the interior fuse panel relate to the NATS system.
1, 18, and 21
not much else we can do at this point to be honest.
just a fusible link for the BCM, but you would know if that was out.
ECm relay would not cause lock mode.
immediately after turning to ON yes. its for a second then goes away.
being that you can't get it out of lock mode? it's hard to tell what you should be seeing honestly.
otherwise those references communicate with the BCM, which once again requires a dealer or mobile locksmith for key registration.
well, your in a catch 22 here.
your not sure the key registration is good....... IF it is, then some locksmiths can copy the registration to the new key. This is hit or miss really.
to register a new key to the car, you need to get a mobile locksmith or the dealer lol.
There is a reason its the Nissan anti theft system.
you can't just cut a key and move along. You have to complete a pin conversion and have dealer or locksmith level scan tool.
