Hello, my partner has just got his sperm test results back

Customer Question

Hello, my partner has just got his sperm test results back and been told he has no sperm and that 4% is the lowest and apparently he doesn't even have that!
Apparently we are being referred to a specialist for more test but what are our options?
Is there anything anyone can do for us to have a baby?
Or is it impossible?
I generally thought it was me with an issue an I had 3 terminations with a previous partner years ago could I still have problems
, does that make it worse ?

Hello and welcome to
I am Doctor Norm, and I look forward to helping you with your problem today.
The specialist will evaluate your husband to see if there are any options for the sperm count. In most cases, there is nothing that can be done. Then the option will be for you to have artificial insemination with donor sperm. That way you would have a baby from your egg and a donor sperm. Apparently you're quite fertile, so it probably won't be difficult for you to get pregnant with donor sperm. So it's very possible to have a baby with donor sperm, but probably impossible to have a baby with your husband's sperm. Best wishes.

Is it possible he has always been zero sperm count?
Expert:  Dr. Norm S. replied 5 years ago.
Most likely it has always been zero sperm, although it's possible that he had some infection such as mumps that wiped out his sperm.
