This answer was rated:

I had an endometrial ablation done 1st sept 2014 but then had a light period in November. I thought that's not too bad. :-)
But then at the end of November my period started again. Still light so that was good. Then 10 days later it started again. So I went on cerazette. Slight cramping with this period and a bit of pain in left ovary. Then after 8 days it stopped. I had no more bleeding days then tiny spotting week then slightly darker spotting the following week, but this time the pain has been stronger like labour pains and pain on and off in the ovary. Will it settle down if I keep taking carezette? I'm getting so fed up with spotting and pain :-(

Dr. K. :

I would not have recommended starting the pill so early

Dr. K. :

There can be irregular bleeding after ablation It causes scarring that may trap old blood. This can happen -6 months.

Dr. K. :

I would wait until 6 months to see what happens and would suggest going off the pill as its likely making things worse

Customer: Hmmm. My doctor recommended cerazette because he said it woul help thin the lining further and probably stop my periods altogether. Is that why I'm in pain. Am I getting a build up of new blood behind the scaring as the womb is contracting to try and shed a lining that's not there?
Customer: So careztte is not helping my problem then?
Dr. K. :

Nope Its making it worse

Dr. K. :

Yes youre right

Customer: God I'm confused now, because on one of the other doctors on this website comments was giving advice to a woman who had been a cerazette the same time as me and he said keep continuing with cerazette as it will thin the lining further. Sorry to be a pain but can you explain how cerazette is making things worse. Many thanks
Dr. K. :

Anything at all you do in the first 3 months makes it worse, its better to allow your body time to get used to it

Dr. K. :

As soon as you go off the pill, you have a withdrawal bleed
