Over 2-3 weeks I have been hearing a pulsating whooshing

This answer was rated:

Hi, for just over 2-3 weeks I have been hearing a pulsating whooshing noise in my ear. I have noticed that if I push down on the right side of my neck where my pulse is the noise stops (its also a little painful to touch there). I am a 20 year old female and have just found out I am 4 weeks pregnant.

This is the sound of your carotid artery. When you push down on the artery, you partially occlude it and stop the sound. Blood volume begins to increase in early pregnancy. This may be why you are hearing the sound. Inner ear congestion is also common and can contribute to the sound. It is nothing to worry about and not harmful.
