Customer Question

I had a Chlamydia test done where the results came back as detected but they also stated the following, Chlamydia Trachomatis organism viability and or infectivity cannot be inferred since target RNA may persist in the absence of viable organisms. Can you please explain what this means in simple English. Thanks

It means that the test can be positive several weeks after treatment. Retesting after being treated should not be done for at least 6 weeks if at all. Traces of chlamydia. (The rna) can exist after treating with antibiotics even when the infection has. Been treated. This does not apply to you as I am assuming its a new infection
