Polycystic ovarian syndrome ( PCOS) is a common cause due to excess androgen level.
Hypothyroidism, adrenal gland disorder due to genetic 21 hydroxylase deficiency ( if you also have facial hair) are other possibilities.
Blood tests for thyroid function, estrogen, progesterone, LH, FSH, 17OHP, testosterone levels should be drawn.
Pelvic ultrasound also recommended to check the ovaries, uterus lining and any fallopian tube blockage.
