I have been bleeding between periods
JA: Are you in any pain? How regular are your periods?
Customer: I’m not in any pain and my periods are very regular as I am on ethinylestradiol/ drospirenone contraceptive pills
JA: Is there anything else the Doctor should know before I connect you? Rest assured that they'll be able to help you.
Customer: nothing else

Good morning, I am Dr Ruff, thank you for contacting us today

I am sorry to hear this.

How long have you had this?

How long have you been on your contraceptive?

What is your age please?

Customer: replied 8 days ago.
It has only started in the last two weeks.
I have been on my pill for over a year now but recently my doctors changed it to the one stated above a couple of months back.
I am 20 years old

Okay thanks. So as a one off this is reassuring. However causes of bleeding between periods can be infective most of the time. Hormonal causes are common as well, therefore your recent pill change could be responsible.

If you get bleeding with sex, or this continues next month, I would suggest a speculum examination and some swabs to exclude causes.
