Customer Question

JA: Hello. How can I help?
Customer: I'm trying to get pregnant. My cyclet started on 1st June and I ovulated on 11th I started bleeding very very lightly for 4 days on 16th. I wondered if it was implantation bleeding? However yesterday I'm sure it's my period beginning as its a little more heavy and I have cramps. Do you know what could be happening?
JA: Are you in any pain? How regular are your periods?
Customer: Periods are usually regular average 21-24 days
JA: Is there anything else the Doctor should know before I connect you? Rest assured that they'll be able to help you.
Customer: That's it

Expert:  M Javid, MD replied 14 days ago.

I need a bit more information.

How old are you?

And how long have you tried?

Customer: replied 14 days ago.
4 months
Customer: replied 14 days ago.
Can I speak to a female doctor
Expert:  M Javid, MD replied 14 days ago.

Implantation bleeding occurs at the time you would be expecting your period.

If it were implantation bleeding, you would miss your period.

Customer: replied 14 days ago.
I'm aware of that
Expert:  M Javid, MD replied 14 days ago.

Ok, I will opt out then.

In the future, if you have some requirements like only wanting a female Dr please specify them in the question.

I wish you all the best.

Was it around the days you have mentioned above?

Did the bleeding on the 16th day follow a sexual intercourse?

Have there been any other issues for you not be being able to conceive?

Thank you for your response.

I apologise for the delay in response as I came back online just now.

From your description it looks like a possible ovulation phase bleeding though an implantation bleeding cannot be ruled out. But not all implantations stay secure during the first few times.

If your bleeding now is correlating with your normal periods vin terms of quantity and duration of the episode, then there are two possibilities..

1. The bleeding on 16th day might have been due to ovulation associated hormonal reactions.

2. If it was an implantation bleeding, it's possible that it slipped away due to weak progesterone balance.

Expert:  Srividhya V S replied 13 days ago.

I would suggest you not to get perturbed regarding this. Since you have noticed bleeding on the 16th day, it's almost correlating with the fact that you are ovulating well.

So I would suggest you to continue your sexual intercourse frequently during the 10th to 18th day of your cycle, when the chances of pregnancy are high. Also please avoid excessive physical activity and exertion during this time so that there are no chances of a failed implantation.

Take foods rich in iron, vitamin c such as dates, pomegranate, oranges, spinach.

You can also take a course of multivitamins and drink adequate especially during the first two weeks of your menstrual cycle.

This helps in maintaining the equilibrium normally for a comfortable fertilisation and implantation

I would be glad to help you.
